SPORT INVERCLYDE
CLUB GRANT CRITERIA
Sport Inverclyde’s CLUB GRANT SCHEME is
intended primarily for sports clubs involved in the development of sport.
Club Grants are also available to club members wishing to attend coach
education courses, which will be of future benefit to the club and to the
sport represented.
The Scheme’s objectives are to
award grants which will :
§
Increase
participation numbers
§
Improve
performance standards
§
Improve coaching
and officiating standards
§
Develop new
sporting opportunities
1.
A Club Grant will
only be given to clubs who are affiliated to Sport Inverclyde, and who are
based within Inverclyde.
2.
Club Grant
applications will be considered under the following categories :
I.
START A CLUB GRANT
For new clubs being formed to develop
sport.
II.
EQUIPMENT GRANT
For existing clubs in respect of
purchasing equipment to assist with the development of their sport.
III. COACH
EDUCATION GRANT
To support club members attending courses
to gain instructor or coaching certificates which will benefit clubs in
Inverclyde.
IV. SPORTS
OFFICIALS’ GRANT
To support the improvements of officiating
standards.
V. COACHING
CLINICS GRANT
To assist clubs organising clinics where
the invited coach is of a national or international status.
VI.
PRESTIGIOUS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS GRANT
For teams which have qualified to
represent Scotland at prestigious events outwith Scotland.
CONDITIONS
In addition to the general principles of
the Grant Aid Scheme, the following conditions apply to all applications
from clubs:
I The level of grant available
to clubs in any one year will be 50% of the estimated cost of the proposal
up to a maximum of £200.
II The combined total of Grant
Aid awarded to a club and its individual members will not exceed £500 in any
one year.
III Applications must be signed
by the club secretary and countersigned by the club chairman.
IV A copy of the club’s audited
accounts or most recent balance sheet must be submitted with each
application.
V Applications for grant aid must
be made in advance of the project. No grant aid will be awarded for
expenditure incurred before the grant application has been received.
VI Sport Inverclyde reserves the
right to consider each application on its merits and is under no obligation
to grant aid to applicants or to specify reasons for refusal to do so.
VII The assistance of
Sport Inverclyde should be acknowledged in publicity material promoted by a
successful club applicant.
VIII Where an equipment grant is
awarded, it must be ensured that:
§
The equipment is
wholly owned and controlled by the club.
§
The equipment is
properly maintained by the club.
§
Equipment
purchased with a Sport Inverclyde grant will not be disposed of without
prior consultation with the sports council.
§
If the club is
disbanded, any equipment purchased through a Sport Inverclyde grant should
be returned to the sports council, if not, the club will remain financially
liable to Sport Inverclyde for the grant sum.
